City Wild promotes sustainability education in several ways.
- Consulting- We offer consulting services to scientists working on sustainability- and environment-related research who are looking to enhance their work by building in an environmental education and community engagement component. We also design strategies for communicating the impact and findings of their work to broader public audiences, including children. We recommend scientists consider including a budget for this in their grant submissions and encourage you to reach out early for collaborative input.
- In-School Workshop Series- CityWild offers custom on-site programing for K-12 educational institutions, both public and private. We are well-versed in state curriculum frameworks and learning standards and can work with schools to promote environmental education in ways that also contribute to broader grade-specific learning goals and requirements. Workshops range from two sessions to full-year programming and can be provided on either a fee-for-service basis or through grant-based opportunities. If you are interested in collaborating on a grant submission to bring CityWild programming to a school in your community, please get in touch.
- Free Public Programming- A core component of CityWild's work is bringing environmental education opportunities to public spaces and events at no charge to participants. CityWild runs programs in city parks, at neighborhood and community events, at farmer's markets, on public trails, and even in parking lots. Our workshops vary by season, theme and age-group. Please check back regularly for course-specific details, times, and location information.
